BOEING Aviation Calendar 2016 about to be delivered!

99 years after the Boeing company was founded, I have come up with a unique BOEING Aviation Calendar 2016 in order to celebrate 100 years of Boeing next year! After designing a MD-11 calendar for the third time in a row, I felt that it was finally time to do something new. Over time I have collected a fair number of Boeing related aviation images and with the help of a few fantastic photographers I have come up with an aircraft calendar that I really love. Giving all my calendars (which includes the Airbus Aviation Calendar 2016 as well) a unified look, there have been some adjustments to previous MD-11 calendars to give them an even … Continue reading

Planespotting at Miami Int. Airport

After flying from Germany to Miami on Air Berlin, I had a couple of days to explore Southern Florida. I had to spend some time had the beach, as the weather was just perfect with blue skies and temperatures around 25°C/77°F. It was the first time I went on a holiday to chill out and relax for a long time and there was no way I would rush things! The beach atmosphere was simply too tempting… Recreation Despite the beach and airports there is much more to explore near Miami. A highlight was my visit to the Everglades National Park. While most people will go on an airboat ride (just … Continue reading

Detroit after the snow

As you know, I have spent a couple of days in Detroit due to the snow storm there. When I woke up yesterday morning, the weather had changed dramatically to the better. See the sunrise from my hotel room was a good feeling, after days of grey and darkness. It was the ideal time for spotting with low temperatures and a crisp cold air, but I had no time for that! Our pick-up from the hotel was 30 minutes late, but we were glad he came at all. Once at Detroit Metro Airport, we made our way to the check-in desk of American Airlines to catch a flight to Dallas/Ft. … Continue reading

Lufthansa to Algiers – Part 3

We had passed the Alps, food had been served and we were getting closer to our destination Algeria, when the first clouds started to appear. Upon starting the approach to Algiers, the clouds were thick and the cloud base low. So when we got to the coast, it was raining and cold (15°C is cold for Algerians). I had hoped for better weather, but there is no way to change it and I was happy to at least snap some pictures of the coastline and houses near the airport. After landing on runway 23 we had some very good views on the apron as we were taxing all the way … Continue reading

New gallery online – Shanghai Pudong Intl. Airport

A few days ago I flew to Shanghai Pudong for the first time in my life! We arrived in the early morning and there was only little traffic. Arriving from Seoul the arrival controllers first struggled to give us a reliable clearance, but the guy working finals made us fly a direct approach to runway 35R. While the tower controller was once again having difficulties with the English language, we made a safe landing and parked on the northern cargo ramp. Here is the video that shows our landing, be sure to watch it in full HD: The sun just rose above the horizon when we arrived at the airport … Continue reading

Flying British Airways – two days four aircraft types! Part 1

Once again I was on my way to a meeting last Sunday. Participating in the SESAR Joint Undertaking (SESAR stands for Single European Sky ATM Research and basically does what it says – strive for a unified ATM system in Europe), I am the expert of our European Cockpit Association in a project called Remote and Virtual Tower. Anyways, all the ECA experts met in Dublin on Monday and I somehow had to get there! One of the options was using British Airways via London Heathrow and that was my chance to fly on the Boeing 767-300 of the UK airline, one of the few carriers to operate it on … Continue reading

Web shop now online!

Finally! Just in time for the christmas season, I have started my own online store featuring my best photos! More than 80 different motives are already available and my selection of 20 cockpit pictures certainly is a highlight. But there are also images of regular airliners and airports available and the range of photos available for use will obviously be extended in the future! Access my online store by clicking on “Shop” in the top navigation bar. At the moment shipping is only to possible to countries in Europe, as I could not find a service provider that fulfills my requirements and ships to the United States and overseas. However, … Continue reading
