AIRBUS Aviation Calendar 2016 – all calendars are in stock!

All calendars are in stock! The most important and best news comes first: I have received all calendars this morning, just as I got back from my last rotation to Nairobi. It had been a long and exhaustive night flight from Kenya to Frankfurt, but I could not wait and jumped right into the car to head home. The calendars had just been delivered and I was super excited and anxious to see them! I am extremely happy with the results and hope you will be as well. After sorting all the boxes, counting the calendars to make sure the right amount was delivered and doing some last-minute fixes on … Continue reading

Dubai – first impressions

Having arrived in Dubai in the early morning hours on Monday, I have had a busy time since then and hardly any sleep! Contrary to what one would usually think, going to the Dubai Airshow every day is hard work and it usually starts with getting up at six o’clock in the morning after just a couple of hours sleep. After getting ready I head to the metro that takes me to Ibn Battuta station near Jebel Ali, where free shuttle buses wait that again take up to one hour and fifteen minutes to go to Dubai World Central and back – it really is a long journey and the … Continue reading

Standby – Day 2 and 3

As I expected nothing much happened during the days of my standby. I spent the first night in a low-priced hotel with some Thai food from the airport and checked out really late the next day. After a good rest, I was refreshed and ready for any task that lay ahead, but there weren’t many… As the weather outside was brilliant, I decided to go out on the apron to take some photos! There was only one MD-11 sitting around and I took the chance to take some “creative” photos. After that, I was waiting for another aircraft to arrive (four hours later) at position 216. And what a coincidence … Continue reading

Stopover in London

Frankfurt! It was once again so annoying and so… Frankfurt! The flight to London was delayed by 20 minutes already. I suspect that they changed an aircraft on short-notice because it was supposed to be an A320, but in the end an A321 showed up. On the other hand there was an A320 sitting on the apron dark, but maybe that flight is leaving early tomorrow morning. Once on the aircraft, I immediatly fell asleep. I remember taking-off and that there was a meal service (the salad looked excellent!), but this bis leather seats really made me sleepy! I am sorry to say it, but compared to other major carriers … Continue reading

No time for rest – on the way to Singapore!

I only spent 12 hours at home and now I am on the road again! Having arrived from Krasnoyarsk yesterday in the evening, I barely had enough time to get something to eat with my fiance, take a rest and re-pack my bag. A meeting with the International Federation of Air Traffic Controller Associations (IFATCA) is taking place in Singapore and I have to be there to represent the pilot community! I took to a train to Frankfurt this morning and arrived at Germany’s biggest airport at around 5 pm. At the airport I used the bus to Terminal 2 – the first and last time I did that! I … Continue reading
