99 years after the Boeing company was founded, I have come up with a unique BOEING Aviation Calendar 2016 in order to celebrate 100 years of Boeing next year! After designing a MD-11 calendar for the third time in a row, I felt that it was finally time to do something new. Over time I have collected a fair number of Boeing related aviation images and with the help of a few fantastic photographers I have come up with an aircraft calendar that I really love. Giving all my calendars (which includes the Airbus Aviation Calendar 2016 as well) a unified look, there have been some adjustments to previous MD-11 calendars to give them an even … Continue reading

Blog posts that deal with the Boeing 787 in general.
I am not really a fan of airshows – too crowded, hot summer days and you often can’t get close enough to aircraft or the light is bad. That is why I am really excited to go to Dubai Airshow which is taking place from 17-21 November 2013 – let’s see if this one is different! A speciality of this airshow is that it is huge, but still strictly for trade visitors. The general public is only allowed to watch the flying display from a dedicated platform outside of the actual show grounds called skyview. Given the fact that entry costs AED 60 and for children AED 30 (without a … Continue reading →
If you switch on the news right now, you can see a Dreamliner standing at a remote gate at London Heathrow, covered in foam and surrounded by firefighters! It is ET-AOP of Ethiopian Airlines carrying the name “Queen of Sheba”. It is the third Boeing 787-8 that delivered to ET on 20th November 2012 and apparently the rear section caught fire. There are clear signs of fire damage near the upper fuselage of the last door on the left side, called 4L. Apparently nobody was hurt, as the aircraft was parked for about eight hours before the incident happened. It would have departed at 21.00 and the incident happened around … Continue reading →
I have finally uploaded a couple of photos of a trip to Tokyo Haneda last year! Being able to compare it with the city’s Narita Airport I can say that Haneda is much more spotter friendly and offers better views. It is an all-day airport, where you can get good shots in the morning, afternoon and also at night-time! Here a few impression from Terminal 1, which offers excellent light in the morning hours. It is mainly used by JAL – Japan Airlines and its multitude of Boeing 737s, 767s, 777s and of course Dreamliners (well, not at the moment). Lower viewing level with a snack shop. There could be … Continue reading →

I have added a few more photos of the Ethiopian Airlines Dreamliner maiden flight to Frankfurt. This is a view from behind after touch-down on runway 07R: (more…)
Puuh… It took some time, but here the are: The first couple of photos of the maiden flight event of Ethiopian Airlines’ Boeing 787 in Frankfurt! I was blessed to be very close to the aircraft the whole time and the pictures aren’t too bad in my opinion. Only a handful of photographers was allowed and I had the chance to be among them. Other photographers I met were Mario Aurich that I also spent some time with until we had to fly home again and Konstantin von Wedelstaedt (who had the idea of using the stairs for shooting the water cannon salute – great!). The day started at the … Continue reading →
It was the first time an African Dreamliner touched-down in Germany! Ethiopian Airlines had sent their Boeing 787 to Germany and I was fortunate enough to be part of the group of photographers that covered the event from the beginning till the end. A lot of work had to be done today, but I found the time to edit some photos as well. So within the next days, the ET 787 gallery will go online! Here are some photos for a start! Landing on runway 07R. Water cannon salute by the fire brigade Me in the cockpit! More photos will be online soon!
